Kyle ran 13.1 miles with Moose & Maverick — as a heart surgery survivor — for the kids who deserve the same chance he got.
On March 15th, 2026 — the 4-year anniversary of his open heart surgery — Kyle laced up his shoes, strapped on the Heart & Hound Survivor bib #329, and ran 13.1 miles through Cincinnati alongside Moose and Maverick. It was a personal record.
The Heart Half Marathon, hosted by the American Heart Association, brought together thousands of runners and survivors. Kyle ran not just as a competitor — but as a living reminder of why early cardiac screening matters, and what's possible on the other side of surgery.
Family showed up in Heart & Hound gear. The dogs earned their finisher medals. Kyle ran every mile faster than the one before it. And at the Turner Tribute Heart, he rang the bell — for every kid who deserves a screening before it's too late.
4 years after open heart surgery. Every mile faster than the last.
