On October 11th, 2026, I ran the Chicago Marathon on the American Heart Association charity team and set a marathon PR of 4 hours and 17 minutes — 26.2 miles for the young athletes who deserve a heart screening before they ever step on a field.
raised for youth heart screenings
Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in young athletes. The conditions that cause it are almost always silent — a kid can feel perfectly fine, pass every physical, and still be at risk.
I'm running the Chicago Marathon on the American Heart Association charity team to change that. Every dollar raised funds limited echocardiogram screenings, parent and coach education, and the American Heart Association's prevention work. 26.2 miles is a lot. Burying a kid because nobody checked their heart is worse.
I'm running for the kids who never got their heart checked. 26.2 miles carrying a mission bigger than a finish line — every step funded by your support.
Your fundraising directly funds limited echocardiogram screenings for young athletes — catching the conditions that lead to sudden cardiac arrest before they do.
On October 11th I crossed the Chicago Marathon finish line in 4:17 — a personal record — knowing every mile and every dollar raised helped protect young hearts across the country.
